Revitalization Kuhlenwall Square

The renting out of the additional surface of
2,500 m² to third parties supports the open character of the Kuhlenwall Square.

A new training and conference centre is located on the ground floor. A staff canteen caters for all tenants of the building.

The building was demolished up to its bearing structure. State of the art HVAC and M+E systems as well as a new fassade bring the complex back into the range where it meets todays and future standards for modern office buildings. Additional building volumes at the ground floor level close the courtyard towards the exterior and thus reinforce the space as an attractive outdoor area within the building. Reducing the cost for energy and operations is an integrated goal of the project.

The revitalization of the building complex, located in the city center of Duisburg, aims to adapt the building, that occupies a complete street block at the Kuhlenwall, to the future demands on modern office buildings. The visual and functional opening of the ground floor and the improvement of the architectural appearance tie the building complex as Kuhlenwall Square into the urban fabric. After completion of the project, 10,600 m² of office area are available of which approximately 8,100 m² is taken by the Sparkasse Duisburg (Savings Bank Duisburg).
